DMK Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Kanimozhi Somu strongly criticized the Un ion government’s budget in Parliament, stating that it takes a certain courage to present a budget that has continuously failed for the past nine years. Speaking during the parliamentary session, she alleged that successive budgets have not met the expectations of the people.
She pointed out that key issues such as rising cost of living, lack of employment opportunities, and the struggles faced by farmers and small businesses have not been adequately addressed. According to her, while large projects are often announced in the name of development, they do not directly benefit ordinary citizens.
Kanimozhi Somu also said that the budget overlooks social justice and the rights of states.
She urged the Union government to reconsider its policies and focus on schemes that genuinely improve people’s lives. Her remarks are being seen as a reflection of the opposition’s stance during the parliamentary session.
