Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has strongly criticized a video purportedly showing Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma making remarks that allegedly incite direct violence against the Miya community. In a post on the social media platform X, Vijayan said the comments were deeply troubling and unacceptable in a democratic society.

He described the remarks as election-driven rhetoric and said such statements go against the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Indian Constitution. Vijayan warned that such language could harm the country’s pluralistic fabric and democratic values. He also pointed out that the silence of the BJP’s national leadership on the issue reflects its stance on divisive politics. Calling for unity, he urged all secular and democratic forces to come together to oppose hate-driven politics and protect India’s diversity.
